Jamie was born on the 21st of July, 1989, in London, England, and is the youngest of four children. He has two brothers, Richard and Robert, and one sister, Lauren.

Jamie's acting career started in a fairy-tale way. He was 10 years old, sitting in a classroom in Emmanuel Primary School in London, when a casting agent arrived to take pictures for the Harry Potter films. Jamie came home and told his family he was going to be in a movie. After the laughter had died down, his mum told him not to get too excited, as things like that just don't happen to ordinary kids like him.

At first, Jamie was considered for the role of Dudley Dursley, but was eventually asked to go to Leavesden Studios to audition for Vincent Crabbe.

Weeks later, his mum Theresa received a phone call. “We haven’t forgotten about Jamie,” she was told. “We’ll let you know.”

Jamie went back for another audition, and he was sent in to speak with Chris Columbus. Chris said "Act sad, act happy, do this, do that," and then, "Just give us a nice shout and you’ve got the part." The rest is history...

What else does Jamie do when he is not filming?

He spends hours mixing 'n rapping with his decks...his mum spends hours telling him to turn it down!

Jamie enjoys drawing, watching DVDs, Playstation games, painting and riding his bike (but not always at the same time)!

He would like as a pet, a monkey, a snake or a dog. His mum let him have a goldfish called Angel!

He likes various types of music from rock to hip-hop. Some of his favorite artists at the moment are Iron Maiden, System of a Down, Non Phixion, Necro, Oasis, 50 Cent & Jay-Z. His mum prefers Robbie Williams!

As well as attending school, he attends college one day per week studying car mechanics, painting and decorating and bricklaying.

During October 2003 on a trip to Washington DC, Jamie and his friend John met the President of the United States of America, George W. Bush, on a visit to the White House.
